The early lean would have to go towards Missouri on Tuesday as they host Georgia as -4 favorites in Columbia. The Bulldogs are just 2-4 when traveling this season, and an unimpressive 11-8 overall.
Of course that doesn’t mean Missouri has exactly been tearing up the SEC with only Vancouver below them in the standings. Mizzu has actually lost 4 straight so maybe taking the points is the way to go here.
Georgia would take a big road win after dropping 5 of their last 6. During that span, the games haven’t really even been close with the lowest margin of victory for opponents being 9 points.
The Bulldogs don’t play a ton of defense as evidenced by their 74.8 ppg allowed that is 300th in the country. UGA and Missouri are both tied with just one conference win. Is home court the deciding factor tonight?
The O/U is also 140 in this matchup which, with Georgia’s defense, seems on the low side. In their last three road games Georgia has given up 82, 91, and 89 points.
The Georgia defense may not be as exploited on Tuesday thanks to Missouri’s offense – or lack thereof. The Tigers put up just 66.4 ppg which is way down there at 304th worst in the country.
The Tigers got a whopping 14 points from their starting five combined last game against West Virginia. Even a bad defense like Georgia’s can have some success against those numbers.
It’s been a tough month for Mizzu basketball. The Tigers have gone 1-6 so far in January with 5 of those defeats being by double digits.
Only three of the past seven games have been at home for Missouri though, which does give them hope on Tuesday. One of the games in Columbia was a 91-75 win over Florida as a 2 point underdog.
Unfortunately there’s also a 10 point loss to Tennessee at home this month for Missouri as well as a 2-point loss to Texas A&M as -10 favorites. Basically, a win over Georgia is no sure thing on Tuesday let alone covering 4 points.
Georgia will give up some points on the road, but that’s usually just to good offenses. The Tigers are one of the worst offensive squads in the country – but also combined with a good defense.
Missouri allows just 62.3 ppg, which is in the top 35 in the nation. The Tigers have been held to 65 points or less in 3 of the last 5 on offense but have also allowed 72+ in 4 of the last 5 which goes against their good defensive rating.
CBB Betting Trends:
- Bulldogs are 3-7 ATS last 10 road games
- Tigers are 0-4 ATS last 4 overall
Free Georgia Bulldogs vs. Missouri Tigers NCAAB Prediction:
Two pretty underwhelming teams meet up Tuesday in Columbia. There’s not a whole lot of transcending talent on either side of the court and there’s no definitive edge in Missouri being at home.
Ultimately this is a bad Georgia defense vs. a poor Missouri offense. Combine that with a good (on paper) Mizzu D and this total should go ‘under.’
