Furman is still one of the best stories going in the college hoops. This is another chance to add to their growing legend.
LSU has been the opposite. Not a total bust but I think some were expecting more and they haven’t really show that yet.

The Paladins have a nice inside outside duo on Jordan Lyons and Matt Rafferty. Lyons leads the team in scoring and even though he is under 6ft he is powerful at over 200 pounds.

Rafferty is not big by most standard but he is close to a double-double on the season. He also plays big when they need him most, season high 17 rebounds against Villanova.
You have to think that at some point this awesome Furman run is going to come to an end. On the road against a Power 5 team this could be it.
LSU Tigers
If the Tigers could have gotten one of their losses back we would be looking at them very differently. Unexpectedly this is now a big game for their resume.
It is early but we already have to be wondering what is up with Tremont Waters. He has taken a step back from his strong freshman season. They need him, especially in this one.

With Waters taking a step back Skylar Mays has emerged as the leading scorer. He is a nice player but more of a complimentary one.
Naz Reid is a monster freshman who is showing a knack for scoring – 12ppg. Like many young bigs he fouls too much but is a factor when he is on the floor.
