Duke just keeps on playing good basketball. Based on the team they have, they really should be able to make a deep run once the tournament starts.
The Blue Devils beat the Virginia Cavaliers on Wednesday by a score of 65-61. Although it was nothing fancy, they did just what they needed to do against a team they are simply better than.
These guys do have some nice wins on their schedule, but for the most part, they have taken advantage of what has been a week ACC. Compared to other years, this conference simply has not been all that competitive.
In their last win, I did not feel the offense was all that good, but the defense played pretty well. Even though Virginia is not some great scoring team, keeping a squad to just over 60 points is no easy feat.
Syracuse Orange
If we are being honest here, it really has not been all that great of a season for Syracuse. Sure, they have shown glimpses of being a decent team, but it has not been done nearly on a consistent enough level.
Right now, the Orange has a record of 15-13. Based on their resume, it is certainly no lock for them to make it into March Madness.
They lost to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Wednesday by a score of 79-69. It will only get trickier for them when they host one of the better teams in the sport on Saturday.
Defensively, I really did not feel they played all that well in their last game. For the most part, they let the Irish do what they wanted and they rarely had answers for their scorers.
