Duke Blue Devils
After losing both of its games two weeks ago (at Clemson and home to Louisville), Duke got back on track with a blowout of the Miami Hurricanes in its only game last week and a home victory over Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

The victory over Pitt only came by twelve but Duke had leads bigger than that for a lot of the game. The Panthers hanged tough, never gave up and kept it close enough to cover as sixteen-point underdogs.
Vernon Carey had twenty-six points and thirteen rebounds as well as one more assist (4) than turnovers (3). Tre Jones played all forty minutes and added to his assist to turnover ratio with eight dimes and zero turnovers; he leads the nation in that figure.
These teams started their rivalry by playing twice a year for Syracuse’s first two seasons in the ACC. They played twice in the regular season last year for the first time since the 2014/15 season but are back to just once this year.

Fortunately for Syracuse, it will be played at the Dome.
While Duke was dispatching Pittsburgh, Syracuse was losing by a point at Clemson, which snapped the Orange’s five-game winning streak.
Elijah Hughes and Buddy Boeheim — Syracuse’s two leading scorers — led the way on the road in this one, too, with twenty-two apiece.
Clemson’s Tevin Mack out-did them both with thirty-two points on twelve-of-seventeen shooting and ten rebounds but Clyde Trapp made the game-winner with 1.7 seconds remaining.
After Joseph Girard hit a cold-blooded three to put the ‘Cuse up by as many points with about ninety seconds to go, Clemson got a bucket from Aamir Simms (his only one of the night) to make it a one-point game.
Syracuse missed a contested look and Clemson rushed the ball down the floor, beating the zone and beating the Orange with a transition layup just in time.
