Boston College is looking to rebound on the road in this one. In the ACC that is always a tough task.

Virginia Tech has amassed a nice record including a couple of nice nonconference wins. They also got off to a nice start in terms of ACC play, beating Notre Dame.

Boston College Eagles

This is BC’s first ACC tilt. They would have loved to come in with more confidence but they just lost at home to Hartford in OT.

Ky Bowman was a monster in that one, playing all 45 minutes and scoring 44 points. He might not leave the floor in this one either. .

Nik Popovic provides bulk inside and he was the only other player who broke double digits. He uses his size to rebound well too.

Wynston Tabbes is a nice looking freshman guard but this is going to be his first taste of ACC action. They need him but can’t rely on him too much at the same time.

Virginia Tech Hokies

The Hokies are really good. They are not like Duke good but they can win any game against any competition. Maybe not great pro prospects but really good college basketball players.

Amazingly they have four players scoring at least 13ppg…and they all can shoot the three. Nickeil Alexander-Walker, from Toronto, is at the top of that group at 18ppg. He is just a sophomore.

Kerry Blackshear Jr. provides the beef but at the same time he could be a better rebounder for all his strength.

Virginia Tech plays amazing defense  – giving up just 57ppg (4th). It is all about being in position and forcing teams to take shots they don’t want to. They have a couple of ball hawks too.
