A lot of other teams in the Big East may be getting more attention, but I have felt that Creighton has played well so far this season. They may not be flashy, but they do play an impressive brand of basketball.
The Bluejays beat the Marquette Golden Eagles on Sunday by a score of 83-82. It was a game that was back-and-forth for most of the day, but the home team was ultimately able to hold onto it, which is a very good sign for them.
These guys might not be in the same category as teams like Providence or Villanova, but they are still a talented club. If they are on their game, I could see them giving a lot of teams some trouble.
The offense looked very good for this group in their last game, as five players ended up reaching double figures. The leading scorer was Ryan Kalkbrenner, who had 21 points and 7 rebounds. If he can keep putting up those kinds of numbers, teams are not going to want to face this team.
St. John’s Red Storm
Overall, I would say that it has not been the most consistent year for St. John’s. They have looked good at times, but there have also been plenty of times in which they have not looked so great.
Right now, the Red Storm has a record of 15-11. Unless they figure out the year strong and some other teams struggle down the stretch, I am not so sure that this team will make it to March Madness.
This crew absolutely crushed the Butler Bulldogs on February 18th by a score of 91-57. I do not think the victory is what had people surprised, but more so the margin by which they won.
In the win over the Bulldogs, Julian Champagnie was the leading scorer for them with 31 points and 7 rebounds. Posh Alexander also chipped in 13 points and 10 assists.
