Creighton is still figuring out how to play without their floor general but this is still a very good team.
DePaul continues to struggle and must hate the fact that conference newbies, like Creighton, are doing so well.
The Blue Jays looks like a shoein for the Tournament but they have to keep winning when they are supposed to.
Creighton Blue Jays
The question for the rest of the season is going to be just how good is this Creighton team with Maurice Watson running the show.
Since losing him they have won at Butler but also lost at home to Marquette. This is still a very good group but their consistency took a hit.
With no Watson there is more pressure on Marcus Foster, who seemed to thrive in a role where he was not being asked to do too much. He is the best scorer they have but with Watson in town he did not have to do it all himself.
If you like NBA draft hype then perhaps Justin Patton is the best player on the team. There is no doubt he is an impact player but in the home loss to Xavier by 2, he was not much of a factor and despite his success he is just a first year player.
Khryi Thomas is a player who has seen his opportunity grow over the last couple of weeks. Like Patton though he has struggled with consistency.
Creighton is more than good enough to go on the road and make an example of DePaul. The question is will they.
DePaul Blue Demons
Every DePaul story starts the same way, this program used to be really good but now it is not. Stuck in a deep league things are tough for the Blue Demons.
Eli Cain is the top scorer – 16ppg – and a nice player but the overall talent is kind of low. He and Billy Garrett Jr. give them good size on the perimeter but Garrett has not improved much over his four years on campus. Brandon Cyus is another big guard who is getting better as the season progresses. He just scored a career high 18 points at Xavier.
Inside the Blue Demons do not have much. Levi Cook has size but doesn’t usually play much. They are going to need him to counter Patton. Usually they do not give many minutes to players over 6’7″
DePaul is certainly just playing out the string at this point. Even if you don’t like Creighton it is hard to get excited about this group.

Free Creighton Blue Jays vs. DePaul Blue Demons NCAAB Prediction:
Creighton is not as solid without Watson but it shouldn’t matter in this one.
The Blue Jays are a great shooting team and if they are on they will win this one going away. If they are off they will still win by 8 or more.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: OVER
Look for something like Creighton -7. I like that number a lot.
