Exactly one week after the previous matchup between Brown and Yale saw Yale take home a one-point win, the two teams meet again, this time in Yale’s house.
Ivy League play continues as these two teams meet for the second time and Brown will look to exact revenge.
Brown Bears
What worked for Brown, and almost got them the win against Yale last time, was giving the ball to senior guard Steven Spieth.
It’s been his show on offense this year. He is averaging 16 points per game on 50.6% shooting, and grabbing just over six rebounds along with that. But last Friday night, he took it to the next level and gave the Bears a 33-point performance.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to get things done, as the Bears got destroyed on the glass by Yale’s Sam Downey.
As I said in last week’s preview, Brown was going to have to find something from its supporting cast and it didn’t get much, especially on the defensive end. Downey was able to take them for 26 points, along with his 13 boards.
For the Bears to reverse last week’s result, the team will have to continue running the offense through Spieth, but find some way to contain Yale’s scorers, five of which average double figures in scoring for the year.
Yale Bulldogs
Yale played a very good game last week, led by the aforementioned Sam Downey. His double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds led the team, and played some solid defense in the paint.
The Bulldogs’ offense has still left something to be desired, despite having five guys who score in double figures, and the team was right around its scoring average for the season. The Bulldogs rank 164th in the nation in points per game, scoring just about 74.6 points per contest.

Rebounding was the name of the game for Yale last week and the team will look to control the boards again this Friday. The Bulldogs outrebounded Brown 43-26 and that was clearly the difference maker in a one-point victory.
Yale will look for a bit more from sophomore guard Alex Copeland, who has been the team’s best scorer this year. He’s averaging just shy of 14 points per game and is shooting 50% from the field, but he only grabbed nine points last week against Brown.
CBB Betting Trends:
- The OVER is 3-2 in Brown’s last five games
- Yale is 6-0 at home this season
Free Brown Bears vs. Yale Bulldogs NCAAB Prediction:
Yale gutted out the win last week and it won’t be any easier this week. If the Bulldogs can contain Steven Spieth and control the boards, the team should get the W on its homecourt. Yale gets the win here.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Brown ATS
Look for Yale to double team Steven Spieth and eliminate a shot at another 33-point performance. I like the Yale money line here. Brown ATS.
