Baylor Bears
Baylor finished behind Kansas, fourth in the Big-12, but with an average margin of victory in conference play more than double that of the Jayhawks.
Big wins and head-scratching losses have become a sort of calling card of Scott Drew’s Baylor teams. Drew became the Head Coach in 2003 and has led the Bears to seven NCAA Tournament appearances.

The Bears finished the regular season losing three games in a row, at Kansas State and at Kansas, with a bad home loss to Oklahoma State in the middle.
Baylor’s 72.7 points per game in conference play were second to only Iowa State. If you like offense, and not just fast offense but really good offense, this one is for you.
Iowa State Cyclones
Most of that good offense is on the Iowa State side. Baylor has some shooters and lots of athleticism. Iowa State and Steve Prohm really run great offense, led by Marial Shayok.
I look at Iowa State as a sleeper, if not in this conference tournament, than in the NCAAs, and perhaps both. Problem is, if the ‘Clones show up and make a statement in Kansas City, not many will be sleeping on them in the Big Dance.

In an interview with Andy Katz earlier this season, Texas Tech Head Coach Chris Beard called Iowa State a “second weekend team.” Surely, that comment stems from the fact that this offense can keep up with just about anybody.
Currently, ISU is a 7-seed in Joe Lunardi’s latest bracket with a potential matchup with 2-seeded Duke on the weekend.
