I liked Auburn coming into the season but then they had some disappointing results and I lost track of them. However, they might have played themselves into consideration for at an large bid, especially if they close the regular season strong.
Georgia has a similar profile. They need a couple of more regular season wins and maybe even a couple of SEC Tournament wins, especially if they beat the right teams. It could be close.
Auburn Tigers
The Tigers have been sluggish down the stretch, losing 4 of 5. You have to think that inexperience has been a factor as so many key players are going through this for the first time.
The future is very bright with Mustapha Heron and Jared Harper and Danjel Purifoy. Lets hope that trio does not do something silly like declare for the draft and not get drafted at all.

Heron is the leading scorer and I like his wing game. He can make threes but he is also aggressive and gets to the free throw line and converts. He also leads the team in rebounding.
Defense has been a problem all season so they might be catching a break in this one as Georgia is still missing one of its top offensive players in big man Yante Maten.
Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia sucked it up…after losing their top player and a close game to Kentucky they have won two straight close contests to put them into contention. Their final two games are winnable.
Without Maten the scoring burden fall primarily on J.J. Frazier. He is super quick but every time he drives the lane you wonder if he is going to get broken in half. The results are there though, 29 and 28 points in the recent wins.

No one player has stepped forward into the Maten void but many are playing well. Juwan Parker has experience and Derek Ogbeide is a tireless worker inside.
The depth of the Bulldogs is lacking though so Auburn might be a tough matchup. They did beat the Tigers in the conference opener, a game Maten scored 31 points in.
