Holy Cross Crusaders
The Crusaders win the prize for the most likely tournament participant. Even with their First Four win they are still not at .500 for the season. It’s exciting for now.
Odds are the ride is coming to a close though. Though Oregon is far from a traditional power it is hard ot see this team that nobody even had on their radar as a sleeper as the type to make NCAA Tournament history.
If the impossible were to occur you would have to see a big game from Malachi Alexander. He only led the team in points, rebounds and assists this year. He was a little light on scoring in their win over Southern but had eight boards and nine dimes.
The hero of the win over the Jaguars was Robert Champion, the team’s second leading scorer. He is going to have to be on the mark again to keep this one at all close.
Oregon Ducks
The Ducks are probably the biggest surprise among the top seeds this season. Nobody predicted this group would be this good, but they definitely earned it.
Even though they lost their top scorer from a year ago offense has not been a problem for this group. Dillon Brooks leads the team at 16ppg but they have 4 players who are scoring more than a dozen per game.
This team can also play defense though as Chris Boucher is an big time eraser at the back end. He averages 3 blocks per game and enables the team to take chances.
Oregon is on a great run right now. They were regular season PAC12 champs and just demolished Utah in the conference title game. They have won eight in a row.

Momentum is a great thing this time of year and the Crusaders definitely have it but I don’t think it will be quite enough. Oregon has it too by the way.
The Ducks might be a little shaky in the first five minutes but once they find their footing they will dominate Holy Cross, as they should.
