These teams are probably the biggest disappointments in the Eastern Conference this season. One of them will get to close the first half on a high note.
Both were in the playoffs a year ago so this was probably supposed to be a marquee opportunity but it is has not turned out that way.
Probably the best thing you can say about the Wizards’ first 50 games is that it did not completely bury them.
They have been battling injuries and inconsistency but they are just a couple of games out of the playoffs heading into this one and for me they are the only team in that group on the outside looking in that I think could get on a run.
Leading the charge will have to be John Wall who seems to have an uncanny instinct about the flow of the game. He is not a great shooter but he averages 20ppg while still dishing a lot – 10 assists per game.
I always think of his as pass first but he can score.
Running mate Bradley Beal is going to be essential to anything they do from here on out. He has only played 29 games but is healthy now.
As bad as things have been for the Wziards at least they can say they are not Milwaukee.
This was supposed to be a team on the rise and it looked like they upgraded their talent with the addition of Greg Monroe but it has not come together.
What is interesting is that they are experimenting with a lineup without a traditional PG leading the way. Michael Carter-Williams is just not a good enough offensive player to have out there in all situations.
In the last game they started OJ Mayo at PG essentially.
They can probably get away with it because their core is pretty versatile, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo. He can handle and even forwards like Monroe and Jabari Parker are pretty good moving the rock up the floor if need be.
Monroe’s numbers are about the same as they were with Detroit but he has just not done much to elevate the team.
Parker was looking good last year before he got hurt but this year he is lost out there.
I really don’t know what he is going to be…Paul Milsap?

Free NBA Prediction:
I like the Wizards on the road here. Milwaukee will have to really get back in the black before I start siding with them again.
