Toronto Raptors vs. Portland Trail Blazers Odds & Last 5
Head-to-head last season, the Blazers swept the Raptors 2-0, but it’s the latter who leads the season series 1-0 this campaign.
Toronto is in the middle of a five-game road trip, up 2-1 so far, and is 9-5 through the last 14 matches in spite of key starters missing time due to injury. They sit in the fourth seed in the East with a record of 27-10 and are in a virtual tie with the reeling Knicks.
Meanwhile, the Blazers have won four games in a row. Portland sits in the ninth seed in the West with a record of 23-22. They trail the Warriors by 1.5 games and hold a 1.5 edge over the Clippers. After this match the Blazers will hit the road for a mini three-game trip prior to returning home for a five-game stand.
Toronto is favored by 3.5 points with an over/under of 224.5 points.
Raptors Stats

Toronto’s team leaders are Brandon Ingram for scoring (21.8 points), Immanuel Quickley for assists (6.3), and Scottie Barnes for rebounds (8.2), steals (1.4), and blocks (1.3).
As a team, the Raptors shoot an abysmal 34.3% from the perimeter but have five players* shooting above the league average.

Toronto Raptors vs. Portland Trail Blazers bottom line: Both clubs are among the NBA feel-good stories of this season. The Raptors have dealt with copious injuries and played 15 games with at least two starters missing, but continue to find ways to win.
Portland started the season with bad news as their head coach, Chauncey Billups, left the team due to off-court drama, but they are a fun team to watch and have played one of the toughest first-half schedules.

Raptors Blazers Free Pick: Raptors -3.5
Here is my Raptors Blazers free pick.
Historically, the Blazers always give the Raptors everything they can handle, especially in Portland. Also, factor in Portland has the best record (9-2) of the New Year.
So, it was a little surprising that Toronto was favored. It likely came down to injuries for the clubs, as Avdija could miss this match along with a handful of others.
Conversely, RJ Barrett and Collin Murray-Boyles have been upgraded to questionable, which would help the Raptors depth (Jakob Poeltl and JaKobe Walter remain out).
Deni Avdija is having a breakout season and deserves to make the All-Star team. Likewise, Scottie Barnes is the do-it-all player for the Raptors so he should be a lock to make the squad as well.
As for the pick, I’m always antsy to pick Toronto when they hit the Moda Center, but they have looked solid in the early going of this road trip. Teams have been hitting them with zone defense, but they appeared to finally resolve that issue in Sacramento.
Additionally, the Raptors have played spoiler to other teams who were on winning streaks, so I’ll roll the dice on them.
Take the Raptors to win and cover.
