(30-19) Toronto Raptors vs. Orlando Magic (19-31)
This game features a strong Raptors team traveling to Orlando to face the Magic.
Toronto is slumping recently, going 2-6 in their last 8 games, while Orlando has hit a skid as well, going 2-7 in their last 9.
The teams have split the season series so far, with Orlando getting a won point victory and Toronto blowing them out by 30.
The Raptors don’t look like the second best team in the East with their recent play. As they have simply played poorly, and could be hurting themselves in the first and second rounds of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Kyle Lowry has kept his strong and efficient play going the last couple of games, but it has not translated to lots of wins for the Raptors. Lowry has scored 29+ points in 5 straight games. He is also shooting an amazing 48% from the field.
His increased scoring hasn’t affected his ability to distribute the ball to his teammates, as he has put up assists totals of 10,8,6, and 8 in their last 4. Kyle Lowry put up 33 points and 8 assists in the last matchup, a 1 point Raptors loss, and I expect him to put up similar numbers in this game.
DeMar DeRozan has missed the last 2 games with a sore right ankle, but I expect him to get on the floor against the Magic, with Toronto struggling. In the two games against Orlando this season DeRozan is averaging 26 points and 6 rebounds.
I don’t see any reason for him to slow down his dominance against the Magic with Eric Fournier guarding him most of the night.
During this tough run for the Raptors their defense has been the main reason for the losses. They have given up over 100 points in 6 of the was 7 games and if they don’t turn it around Orlando has the interior and perimeter scorers to make it a blowout.
The Magic started the season with the hope of making a playoff run, but have struggled all season long and are looking at a lottery pick.
Elfrid Payton has been streaky with his shooting, but has been dishing out large numbers of assists each night. Payton is averaging 12 points and 6 assists per game this season and has also seen his turnovers go down. Against Kyle Lowry I don’t see him putting up big numbers,
Nikola Vucevic could not be stopped by the Raptors front line in the Magic’s recent win against them. The underrated big man was dominant, getting 25 points on 9-17 from the field (including 3-4 from behind the arc). He also grabbed 10 boards.
It was his first double digit rebound performance in 7 games and he also chipped in 5 assists. Vucevic ability to stretch the floor against the Raptors big men should make him the X-factor in this game, and I expect him to get 26 points and 12 boards on the night.
Serge Ibaka wasn’t dominant against the Raptors, but he did put up 12 points and 7 rebounds. If he can get touches early in the game, it could set up a good inside-outside combo with Vucevic. Look for Ibaka to get another 12 points and grab 14 rebounds in this contest.

Free Toronto Raptors vs. Orlando Magic NBA Prediction:
Toronto will give up a lot of points to the Magic front line, but I expect Lowry to be the key man to lead them to victory.
