The Toronto Raptors have now made it three wins in a row after they beat the Portland Trail Blazers in their last outing (final score 112-106), while out in New York the Knicks also came away victors, beating the Philadelphia 76ers 110-109.
Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors were able to beat the Portland Trail Blazers last outing, and their play in the fourth quarter had a huge part to do with that.

Toronto outscored Portland 30-26 in the final frame, however it was the way in which they did it that was most surprising. The Raptors just continued forcing the Trail Blazers stars into taking tough shots.
On the night, C.J. McCollum was just 6 of 19 from the field, while Jusuf Nurkic shot just 3 of 9.
The play of those two really put the Trail Blazers behind, because the team relies on them to produce. But Toronto wasn’t allowing that to happen, and that’s why they were able to leave with the “W”.

Now going against New York they need to do the same thing in order for them to make it four wins in a row.
The Knicks only go as far as Carmelo takes them. So for that reason, the Raptors need to shut him down if they’re to earn another win.
New York Knicks
A clutch basket from Carmelo Anthony in the final seconds put New York up ahead, but if it wasn’t for their terrible defensive efforts that never would have been the case in the first place.
New York allowed Philly to outscored them 34-24 in the final period, and that almost put the 76ers ahead. However if it wasn’t for Carmelo’s heroics the Knicks would have came up with yet another loss.
But that didn’t happen and now they have a chance to change that narrative next game.
Going up against Toronto the Knicks cannot do that again. That is if they plan on winning. Against Philly it was okay to let your guard down, but the Raptors will pounce at any chance you give them.

So for that reason the Knicks need to be disciplined if they hope to beat the Raptors. They’ve shown a tendency to let leads slip up. But if they do that against Toronto it’s just going to be another loss on their record.
