Wednesday, November 21 finds the Toronto Raptors meeting up vs. the Atlanta Hawks in their first meeting of the 2018-19 regular season. Toronto arrives in Atlanta having won at the buzzer in Orlando. The Hawks last played Monday in a loss to the Clippers. marking their eighth in a row.

Last season, the Raptors swept the four game regular season series. The Hawks hold the all-time record having bested the Raptors in 45 of their 86 matches.

Last week was tough for the Raptors losing three games in a row. First, the Pelicans handed the Raptors their first home loss and became the first Western squad to beat Toronto.

This was followed by two consecutive late game losses. Former coach Dwane Casey’s Pistons won at the buzzer and the Raptors lost in overtime to the Celtics.

Key in the Celtics loss was Toronto had to finish the game without the services of Danny Green or Pascal Siakam who both fouled out plus OG Anunoby who was injured early (sprained wrist). Missing three of their best defenders versus Boston’s starting five allowed the Celtics to deliver the knockout punch.

Toronto closed out the week on a back to back in Chicago missing Kawhi Leonard, Anunoby, C.J. Miles and Norm Powell, yet still won by 39 points in Chicago via a clinical performance.

Anunoby (wrist) and Miles (adductor) are questionable and Powell (shoulder) will be out at least until mid December. Kawhi Leonard played versus Orlando so will likely rest in Atlanta.

Atlanta Hawks

Despite fighting to stay in the game Monday, the Hawks eventually succumbed to the league’s best early surprise – the LA Clippers. Still, Trae Young was impressive dishing 17 assists to his crew and added 25 points.

John Collins is finally back with the team (played in the last two) after a lengthy injury absence.  His return should help the Hawks improve offensively where they currently rank 29th.

Atlanta has lost eight games in a row including three at home.

Omari Spellman suffered a hip contusion versus the Clippers and is questionable for Wednesday. Alex Poythress is also questionable with an ankle contusion.
