NBA Betting – Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Golden State Warriors Western Conference Finals Series Preview and Picks
The first big upset of the 2016 Playoffs took place when the Oklahoma City Thunder took down the #2 seed San Antonio in 6 games.
On the other side of the bracket, things held to par as the Golden State Warriors actually got all they could handle from Damien Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers, but Steph Curry’s return was just too much for them to handle.
Now the two teams meet as they got into some solid battles during the regular season. One of which included Curry hitting an overtime shot from just inside half court with 1 second to go.
Who’s got the edge in this series?
Let’s break it down.

Thunder vs. Warriors Free Series Prediction: Guards
Oklahoma City’s guard play is obviously led by Russell Westbrook. The Thunder star completely took the series over and continued to put up near triple double stats. He will obviously be the big key in this series as the Thunder need him to perform at the same level he did against the Spurs.
Also important will be Andre Roberson and Dion Waiters at the SG position. Production on both ends of the floor is what these two need as they’ll be going up against the best PG/SG tandem in the NBA.
It’s the Splash Brothers for Golden State.
Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are the most impressive G duo in the NBA and they have time and time again shown that. Thompson held the fort down when Curry was out and when Curry returned, he finished the job. These two can get hot at any moment and completely change the game.
Verdict: Despite Westbrook, give the edge here to the Splash Brothers here. With the ability for these two to take a game over and with how weak the Thunder are at SG, Golden State should be able to expose that position.
Thunder vs. Warriors Free Series Predictions: Forwards & Center
The Thunder has a very impressive paint game.
It does start with Durant, who like Westbrook, is a huge key in this series obviously. In Game 6, Durant finished with 37 points and 9 rebounds as he was the catalyst. He’ll certainly have to put up big numbers like that consistently for OKC to have a chance here.
Serge Ibaka and Steven Adams will also play a big role. Enes Kanter backs up Adams, but the two big man will have the task of stopping the paint on either a curry drive to the bucket, or a Bogut or Draymond Green paint move. While their defense is important, the offensive production is equally as important.
For the Warriors, Draymond Green highlights the F/C positions. Green has emerged as one of the stars on this team and while the spotlight is usually on Curry or Thompson, he’ll continue to put up significant numbers. He especially stepped up when Curry was out to carry the offensive load.
Andrew Bogut and Festus Ezeli will have to slow down Steven Adams and Serge Ibaka. They’ll get some help from Harrison Barnes, who offensively has hit a couple big shots this postseason.
Thunder vs. Warriors Free Series Predictions:
Everyone expected this to be the Spurs vs. Warriors here.
The Thunder proved many people wrong and will now try to do that one more time against the best team in the NBA.
Oklahoma City can score, there is no issue there. This series will be decided if Westbrook can slow down Curry. Expect a very physical series with both teams getting chances to steal road games.
Warriors in 6.
