Here is my Spurs Knicks free pick. This match likely comes down to which superstar is more successful as to who’ll win the Cup.
Brunson will have to deal with a bevy of guards (and maybe a few wings – does Jeremy Sochan still play in SA? – I jest), plus if the Spurs are smart, they’ll use these same guards to force him to defend too.
Like all games the perimeter and the glass will play a factor in the outcome. Neither team is in the top half for perimeter defense so watch for both clubs to get up some deep balls early. As for the glass, New York has the decided advantage, but will be tested by the Spurs in transition.
As for Wemby, the question is whether KAT and Mitchell Robinson will draw the assignment or if the Knicks will use their best defender, albeit much shorter than Victor (OG Anunoby), to try to limit him.
I’m still reeling from how effective Wembanyama was in limited minutes and how he changed the game, so I’ll take the points and the Spurs, who seem very committed to winning.
