The Portland Trail Blazers head to Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder Tuesday night in a battle between division rivals.
OKC has all but locked in a top-seven spot when it comes to the NBA playoffs, but the Blazers are still looking to stake their claim as a potential No. 8 seed.
The Nuggets currently hold that eighth spot, so every win counts for te Trail Blazers.

Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers will have their hands full Tuesday night.
Not only is Russell Westbrook a triple-double machine who can go off for 30 points any night of the week (in fact, he’s on a four-game streak of at least 40 points as of this writing), but the Blazers’ backcourt has been arguably the league’s worst in terms of defense.
You can’t knock Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum for their offensive attack (two two make up one of the highest-scoring guard tandems in the league), but stopping even mediocre guards has been a problem all year.

Along with Westbrook, Steven Adams and Enes Kanter will look to challenge Portland.
The two bigs have different styles — Kanter an offensive-minded big with a low-post game, and Adams a defense guru who can rebound against the best — but both will be heavy tasks for the Blazers to handle.
To combat the concern in the post, Portland will look to utilize newcomer Jusuf Nurkic.
The Bosnian Beast has exceeded expectations since coming over in a trade for Mason Plumlee.
Stopping Westbrook may not be an option in this one (unless the team wisely gives him different looks one-on-one with the likes of Maurice Harkless and Al-Farouq Aminu), but utilizing the 7-foot, 280-pound frame of Nurkic will at least give this team someone to challenge OKC’s low-post options.
Oklahoma City Thunder
The Thunder enter this contest with a three-game losing streak. Their last two losses have come to the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns, 104-89 and 118-111, respectively.
The loss that started it all, however, came against these same Trail Blazers, 114-109.
Despite falling victim on the road last time out, OKC has home-court advantage this time.
Taj Gibson continues to look good in his new system, and as already mentioned, players such as Westbrook, Adams and Kanter are built to give a team like Portland trouble.
The key here will be defense. Nurkic continues to show that he can be a go-to option in the post for the Blazers, but Adams needs to take that away.

And with Lillard and McCollum each being viable scorers in the backcourt, sticking Victor Oladipo on one should help contain half of the dynamic duo.
If the Thunder can keep at least one of Lillard and McCollum under 20 points (and ideally with low shooting percentages), OKC will have the edge.

Free Portland Trail Blazers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder NBA Prediction:
OKC should walk away with a win in this one, but the question is: Can it cover a decent-sized spread against a team that beat it just last week?
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: OKC ATS
As long as the Thunder can make Nurkic uncomfortable on offense and force either McCollum or Lillard into a bad game, the answer will be yes.
