76ers vs. Knicks Gameday

Friday offers a small slate of five matches, including the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Philadelphia arrives on the heels of a 117-120 loss to the Atlanta Hawks this past Sunday, so have the rest advantage.

All five starters scored in double-figures while the bench struggled, scoring just nine points total. Paul George led the way with 35 points while Joel Embiid delivered a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds.

Having been crowned the NBA Cup champions, the Knicks lucked out on Thursday when a slippery court ensured their 114-113 victory versus the Pacers.

Five Knicks scored in double figures, with Jalen Brunson heading the charge, dropping 25 points.

Here is my 76ers Knicks free pick.  Health could be the key caveat, as Tyrese Maxey missed the last game and both he and Joel Embiid are listed as game time decisions.

That said, the 76ers have yet to demonstrate they can flow on either end when all four stars are playing.

Mitchell Robinson will be a great option to guard Embiid, but who will the Knicks put Towns on if Mike Brown elects to take that route?  

The Knicks are solid at home, having lost just a single time (13-1), while the Sixers are mediocre on the road (6-4).

Still, the 76ers have the rest advantage and could serve up a trap game. I’ll avoid the lure of going that route and pick the Knicks to win and cover.
