Coming off two straight wins, the Philadelphia 76ers will head to Boston to take on a tough Celtics squad.

Boston has won four of the last five, including a tough win over a good Utah Jazz team, and will look to continue a good stretch of basketball against the Sixers.

As bad as the 76ers are, they might be one of the more intriguing teams in the NBA based on what their roster could be if they were healthy. Ben Simmons has still yet to play a game in the NBA because he’s recovering from a foot surgery.

Nerlens Noel is playing barely 11 minutes a game. And no one is really sure if center Jahlil Okafor is actually good or not.

What we do know is that center Joel Embiid is going to be a fantastic NBA player. In his first year, he’s averaging 19.2 points in just 25 minutes per contest.

He also averages seven rebounds and 2.5 blocks. The kid can really play and you start to wonder if this is the first piece of “the process” that will really help turn an embarrassingly poor Sixers team around.

Unfortunately, right now he’s the only standout. The offense as a whole is very bad and only scores about 98 points per game, making the Sixers fourth worst in the NBA in that category.

The defense isn’t any better, giving up 106 points per game (22nd in the NBA).

Boston Celtics

This Boston Celtics team is fun to watch. Sitting 3rd in the Eastern Conference, the Celtics are coached extremely well by Brad Stevens and have proven to be tough to beat.

Averaging 106.4 points per contest, the Celtics have a solid offense led by guards Isaiah Thomas and Marcus Smart, along with forward Jae Crowder.

Thomas is having the best season of his career by far. Averaging over 27 points and 6 assists per game, Thomas has been clutch for Boston and isn’t afraid to take close games into his own hands and close them out.

He’s a great piece for Boston and has really bought into coach Stevens’ system.

Crowder is playing some good basketball as well. He averages about 13 points and 5 rebounds per game, while shooting 49% from the field.

He’s been extremely important for Boston on both sides of the ball and is turning into a vocal leader for this team.

Beating Philly shouldn’t be too difficult for the Celtics and guys like Thomas and Crowder will ensure that fans see a win in TD Garden on Friday.
