An Eastern conference showdown takes place on Friday night as the Orlando Magic travel up to Boston to take on the Celtics.

The Celtics look to move closer to the one seed, well the Magic hope to just get into the playoffs.

This is the second meeting between the two teams this year. Boston won the first match up 117-87.

The Orlando Magic need to turn around their season fast and in a big way if they want any hope of making the playoffs this year.

They have really struggled as of late and come into this game having lost eight of their last ten games. Their only two wins in that stretch came against the Bucks and the Trail Blazers.

The problems for the Magic come on the offensive side of the ball.

In their last ten games they have only scored above 98 points four times. In two of those games they still ended up losing.

They do run a slower paced game but a lot of the reasons for them losing is because of injuries.

D.J Augustin, CJ Wilcox, Jodie Meeks and Evan Fournier are all expected to be out of this game. That many injuries leaves their bench depth really depleted.

The Magic have struggled on the road this season, registering a record of 10-14.

Boston Celtics

For as poor as the Magic have been, the Celtics have been just the opposite. They are moving farther and farther up the Eastern Conference standings as of late.

Over their last ten games the Celtics are 6-4.

In their last game the Celtics beat a struggling Rockets team 120-109.

The Celtics too have been dealing with lots of injuries, but they are all expected back for Friday’s game.

For the Celtics to win they just need to play their game and press the pace. The Magic will try and slow down the game so the Celtics have the advantage if they pres the pace of the play.
