Friday, the NBA Finals resume with the Indiana Pacers hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder. Indy played their best game of the series on Wednesday, winning 116-107 to take a 2-1 series lead.
Indy held the second-best record in the NBA as of the New Year (OKC was number 1) and found their way to this stage of the playoffs via wins against the Bucks (4-1), Cavaliers (4-1), and Knicks (4-2).
OKC got their berth following victories versus the Grizzlies (4-0), Nuggets (4-3), and Timberwolves (4-1).

Last season, the squads played twice, with the Pacers sweeping the series while the Thunder returned the favor this season, sweeping Indy. The Thunder holds the all-time record, having bested the Pacers in 55 of their 101 matches

Fortunately, they have recent history to draw upon when they beat the Nuggets in Denver, so don’t count out the Thunder. Expect them to draw upon what got them here in the first place — stellar defense.
Specifically, watch for OKC to clamp down on Siakam from the tip, continue to target Haliburton, and have a game plan to slow Mathurin. Oh, and I’d put good money on the fact they worked on inbound plays in practice!
