The conference semi-finals between the top-seeded OKC Thunder and fifth-seeded Dallas Mavericks shift venues to Texas for the next two contests. With their 119-110 victory on Thursday, the Mavericks possess the home-court advantage now.

As I noted in the last preview it’s typical for Luka Doncic to respond to a poor shooting night with a high-end performance. The question was whether his ailing knee would limit him.
Although it was evident his movement was affected he delivered, registering 29 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals. Most importantly he found the range from deep dropping 5 of his 8 (62.5%) perimeter shots – – a significant improvement over his prior 22.7% this postseason.
Mavericks Stats
Dallas ranked eighth offensively (117.0) and 18th in defensive rating (114.9) with a net differential of plus +2.1 that ranked 15th overall.
To this point in the playoffs, Dallas ranks seventh offensively (114.7) and eighth defensively (111.9) with a plus +2.9 net differential ranking fifth.
The Mavericks perform well against the spread with a 53-37 record through 90 contests this season.

As for the Thunder, this is the first time they’ll be facing adversity after steamrolling the Pelicans and taking Game 1. If they play to their identity they’ll shrug off the loss and play with the poise that got them the top-seed.
I’ll take the points in Game 3 and while it’s a bit of a coin toss on who wins I’m leaning toward the Mavs because Kyrie is due to make his mark on the series.
