Two long-time Eastern Conference rivals will face off this Wednesday as the New York Knicks head down to Philly to take on the 76ers. The Knicks won the last meeting between the two, defeating the Sixers 109-102 on April 8th of last year.
New York has struggled mightily over the last few weeks.
They have lost eight of their last nine games, including a 110-96 beatdown at home at the hands of the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday.
They are currently in 11th place in the East.

Philadelphia, on the other hand, has been on a bit of a roll over the last week, winning three of their last four. They won 105-95 in Brooklyn on Monday.
The Sixers are currently in 13th place in the Eastern Conference.
New York Knicks
Everyone is trying to figure out exactly what has gone wrong in New York. The Knicks seemed to be a legitimate contender in the Eastern Conference early in the season.
However, they completely fell off a cliff in December and are struggling to get things back together in the new year.
So far, the Knicks have only won one game in 2017. That was a 116-111 victory over the Bucks in Milwaukee last Friday– a nationally televised game.
It was their only victory in the last nine games, and they have lost two straight since– both by 14 points.

New York scores 105.5 points per game which ranks them 13th in the NBA in scoring.
They rank 3rd in rebounding with 45.7 and 19th in assists with 21.7 per contest. They have actually improved defensively over the last month but still rank 25th in points allowed with 108.9 per game.
Carmelo Anthony leads the Knicks with 21.9 points as well as 6.1 rebounds per game.
Kristaps Porzingis is right behind him with 19.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Derrick Rose has been a great addition, averaging 17.3 points and 4.5 assists a night.
Philadelphia 76ers
Although not they are not yet ready to compete for a playoff spot, there have been some good signs for the Sixers this year.
After consistently being at the bottom of the NBA for the last few years, they seem to be developing an identity and a process (*hesitant to use that word) that actually works.
Joel Embiid is proving himself to be one of the premier big men in basketball in his first season of real play. Ben Simmons showed real potential before the injury and is now back to practicing and should return soon.
Okafor has also shown flashes of real potential. They are obviously not there yet, but they have won three of their last four and seem to be on the right track.

Philly currently ranks 26th in the NBA in scoring with 99.2 points per game.
They rank 20th in rebounds with 43.1 and 12th in assists with 22.5 per contest. On the other end, the Sixers allow 105.9 points per game which ranks them 21st in the league.
Joel Embiid leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 19.4 points and 7.3 boards per game.
Ersan Ilyasova adds 15.1 points and 6.4 rebounds, and Jarryd Bayless contributes 11.0 points, 4.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds a night.
