New York Knicks
The Boston Celtics chose to rest Kyrie Irving when the New York came to town on Wednesday night. The Knicks may prefer to believe Irving’s absence inspired the rest of Boston’s corps because the game wasn’t close, 103–73 Celtics.
Tim Hardaway Jr. shot 1-for-10 from the field, Enes Kanter turned it over five times and nobody had a worse +/- than Kristaps Porzingis, who was -36.
The Knicks’ schedule has been grueling. They haven’t played consecutive games at Madison Square Garden since December 10th and 12th and have played 15 of their last 19 on the road.
They’ve lost more than they’ve won, but they haven’t been a complete disaster and there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
After this game, they’ll go home for two games before hitting the road for three more before returning to relative normalcy for the last two months.
At this points, the Knicks are probably looking for a point in their schedule to take a breath, reset and prepare for the home stretch. This game feels far from that sort of opportunity.
Milwaukee fired Jason Kidd nearly two weeks ago now and it hasn’t lost since. The Bucks have won four in a row and the last three (versus Brooklyn, at Chicago, versus Philadelphia) have been by double-digits.
There’s a good chance that streak will end before they host the Knicks on Friday. Milwaukee is in Minnesota for a game on Thursday night before finishing the back-to-back in this game at home.
Friday is more than just any home game for the Bucks, though. It marks the return of Jabari Parker after he tore his ACL on February 8 of last year.
According to the plan, he will come off the bench for about 15 minutes on Friday and take it from there. Drafted in between Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid a few years back, Parker has shown all-star potential when he is healthy.
I find it hard to believe that his return won’t help one of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference.
There’s still lots of basketball to be played and with how every team outside of the Celtics and Raptors look in the East right now, Milwaukee could play itself into the top half of the playoffs with a good last couple months.

Free New York Knicks vs. Milwaukee Bucks NBA Prediction: the Bucks win at home.
Milwaukee isn’t exactly deep so it should, in theory, struggle more on late-season back-to-backs than some of the other teams around the league. All the more reason Parker should make an immediate impact.
More importantly, the Knicks don’t look like a team likely to knock off a playoff team on the road.
