The New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers both came away on the losing end of things in their last matchups. New York ended up losing their last game against Phoenix, after Devin Booker hit a clutch basket that gave Phoenix the slight edge.

Instead, it seems like the team just goes into games planning to go with the flow. However, that hasn’t worked too well through the first half of the season, and if they’re to turn things around the teams going to need to find some sort of an identity as a unit.

But the only problem with it is the team isn’t really good at playing that brand of basketball.

Their last matchup against Phoenix was a prime example of that, and in the end that game turned out bad for the team. So if they hope to not let that happen again they’re going to need to rebound and defend better as a unit.
The Knicks are going to have to do all the little things in order to beat a strong Pacers squad, because Indiana will run through them if they hope to just match them basket for basket.
Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers had their chances to beat the Utah Jazz last outing, but they didn’t take advantage of it. Utah came out of the gates with more urgency (outscored Indiana 34-21 in just the first quarter) and because of that they were able to pull away with the win.
Indiana had a couple of chances to get themselves back into the lead, but they ultimately couldn’t do it as Utah pulled away ahead 109-100. However, now they have a chance at redemption in their next matchup against the New York Knicks.
New York is a very inconsistent team. They have a tendency to look great some nights, and not so good the next. That means Indiana has got to attack them early, because the Knicks tend to give up when things just aren’t going their way.
So if the Pacers can come out with a high energy they’ll be able to get the upper hand right from the opening tip, and that should help propel them to victory.

But again that’s only going to happen if Indiana can play with more energy and hustle. New York isn’t great at making winning plays. So Indiana has got to use that to their advantage if they’re to win this game.
