(12-12) New York Knicks vs. Chicago Bulls (3-20)
New York Knicks
Earlier this week the Knicks announced they would be without Tim Hardaway Jr. for two weeks. Then, the Knicks won for the first time since he went out last week.
From what I read, it seems like it would be a best-case scenario if Hardaway were to get back after just the two weeks. That’s the minimum it will take his shin to get back to being pain-free but it might end up being longer, depending on the severity of what’s going on in there.
So while some Knicks fans think it’s a simple two weeks and then back situation, it isn’t. Though it very well may be.
The win earlier this week came against a porous Memphis team and the next one this weekend is against one of the very few teams that are even worse.
It doesn’t get any worse than the Chicago Bulls, though. Kristaps Porzingis is healthy and will be in the lineup after a stretch of in and out over the last two weeks or so. The same with Enes Kanter. This is the first time the Knicks play the Bulls this season.
Chicago’s losing streak hit 10 earlier this week with a loss in Indianapolis. The Bulls are now being outscored by over 11 points per game this season.
The Bulls have some balanced scoring that will give a run at Porzingis in this game, though. Justin Holiday and Lauri Markkanen lead the team with 14.3 points per game and four other teammates are in double-figures with Jerian Grant just outside that group.
There just isn’t anybody other than Robin Lopez who scores efficiently and as a team the Bulls shoot just over 40 percent from the field. It starts with the lack of a true point guard but the reality is that every Chicago Bull is physically overmatched at the NBA level. There are very few rotational players who would be in the same position on the other teams in the league.

Free New York Knicks vs. Chicago Bulls NBA Prediction: the Knicks escape with a win.
I don’t think the Knicks are very good without Hardaway and the Bulls play hard. New York does have some real legitimate pros, however, and should escape with a win without causing their fans too much pain. It does show you how close this team is to really sliding, though. The Knicks don’t have much room to lose one of their main few playmakers and survive, long-term. They have to stay healthy all season and that’s starting to go south on them now.
