The Minnesota Timberwolves are coming off a two game losing streak at the hands of the Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder.
While in the Eastern Conference the Brooklyn Nets also came away on the losing end of a close encounter with the Charlotte Hornets.
But now both teams are looking to get back on track in their next matchup at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are coming off a lop-sided loss to the 5-1 Oklahoma City Thunder. Russell Westbrook went off for 28 points, shooting 9-18 from the field, while seeing only 28 minutes of action.
Rookie point guard Kris Dunn just couldn’t contain him all game, allowing Westbrook to get to wherever he wanted on the court. It got to the point where Tom Thibodeau had enough and started looking for other options giving Tyus Jones a shot. But he wasn’t any better.
However, next game they’ve got Isaiah Whitehead and Sean Kilpatrick at point guard for the Brooklyn Nets. The good thing about that is those two are not the superstar talent Russell Westbrook is, so they should do a better job stopping them.
If Minnesota’s planning on winning they’ve got to do just that, because the teams got enough talent offensively to win this game.
Brooklyn is missing starting point guard Jeremy Lin, leaving rookie Isaiah Whitehead and combo guard Sean Kilpatrick as the lone options for the Nets.
So with that, the Timberwolves have got to use that to their advantage and beat this competitive Brooklyn squad.
Minnesota has more scoring options in Karl Anthony-Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine so they’ve got to continue scoring efficiently in order to come out victorious in this matchup.
The Brooklyn Nets are coming off a close loss to the Charlotte Hornets (final score 99-95.) They kept up with Charlotte for much of the game, but in the end their inefficient play (shot 40.2% FG as a team) put them in a hole they couldn’t get out of.
Brooklyn shot just 25% from behind the arc, and that played a key part in the team shooting such a woeful percentage from the field, because they had trouble getting the lid off the basket from three-point range.
Key figures for the team such as Bojan Bogdanovic and Sean Kilpatrick also couldn’t get it going, as Bogdanovic shot a putrid 4-17 from the field and Sean Kilpatrick went 5-15.
But now they have a shot a redemption going up against a young Minnesota Timberwolves team.
Despite their record of 1-4 Minnesota has continued to stay competitive, but with an inexperienced roster the team hasn’t been able to pull out many wins.
So the Brooklyn Nets must take advantage of that. With Jeremy Lin sidelined if the team can get production out of Brook Lopez, Bojan Bogdanovic and Sean Kilpatrick, they’ll be able to pull out the win.
The Timberwolves have shown a tendency to led leads slip away if a team can stay close enough towards the end of the games.
Meaning if Brooklyn can do that, they’ll likely win this one.

Free Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Brooklyn Nets NBA Prediction:
Minnesota has continued to lose due to their youth. But this game look for them to come out on top, because Brooklyn is missing one of the key components to their offense in Jeremy Lin.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: -3.5
Without him they have rookie point guard Isaiah Whitehead starting for the team, meaning Minnesota should take this one.
This is going to be a competitive game from start to finish, but look for the Timberwolves to pull out this win in this matchup.
