The Bucks won yet again on Sunday afternoon, getting up huge on the Brooklyn Nets before holding on for a game that got a little closer than they would have liked.
It was Miwaukee’s sixth win in its last seven games, all since the firing of Jason Kidd. It is rising in the Eastern Conference and making a push toward the top half of the playoff standings now.
The Greek Freak left the game in the fourth quarter with a sprained ankle that looked at lot worse than it turned out to be. He was writhing in pain on the deck but came out afterward to say the injury isn’t so serious.
Matthew Dellavedova also hurt his ankle. It sounds like both of those guys have a chance to play in this game. So, long-term, there is no problem in Milwaukee. For this game, though, keep an eye on their status.
Malcolm Brogdon is also hurt and should be out for this game but Jabari Parker is back. He played his second game since his year-long recovery from ACL surgery and scored 11 points in 17 minutes. His lift could prove to be huge.
The Bucks’ timing with first the firing of Kidd and now the winning has put them in a position to make a move at the deadline. There have been DeAndre Jordan rumors and there’s no doubt he would look fantastic in a Bucks’ uniform.
If Milwaukee can swing a deal, it has to feel like it’s got a great shot in what seems to be a fairly wide-open Eastern Conference.
New York Knicks
The Knicks lost an incredibly frustrating game on Sunday against Atlanta.
Not only was it in their return home after a brutal road trip, but it was on a buzzer-beater and due to some controversial officiating down the stretch.
Kristaps Porzingis looks and sounds like a broken man these days. He is tired and frustrated and who can blame him. He scored 22 points on 9-of-20 shooting on Sunday.
Tim Hardaway Jr. has been back and playing big minutes but he just doesn’t look himself. He scored nine points on nine field goal attempts in the loss to Atlanta.
With Porzingis laboring and Hardaway clearly not right, the All-Star Break can’t come soon enough for the Knicks. The next five before then aren’t easy but the Knicks have to do what they can to not throw in the towel before then.
No team needs a week off more than these guys.

Free Milwaukee Bucks vs. New York Knicks NBA Prediction: Milwaukee on the road.
Even with Giannis’ status uncertain at this time, I’m locking up the Bucks. New York looks like a dead team walking, while the Bucks are quite the opposite.
