(11-12) Miami Heat vs. San Antonio Spurs (16-8)
Wednesday, December 6 finds an Eastern and Western Conference foes entering their eighth week of play in the 2017-18 regular season for the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs.
This season the Heat and Spurs already played each other, with the Spurs winning the first matchup. For the all-time series, the San Antonio Spurs hold the record with 42-18 against the Heat.
Losers of the past three of four games, the Miami Heat are ready to pick up their steam once again as they are going to begin a tough three day road trip starting in San Antonio. The Heat have battled some injuries so far this season, but still have some room to move up the conference.
They may not have the necessary stars to lead the team, but they do have a couple of players who deserve some recognition. A couple of those players being Josh Richardson and Dion Waiters who have been great so far this season.
In their last win against the Charlotte Hornets, Richardson and Waiters combined for 46 points along with four rebounds and five assists.
When those two players are on fire, they can be an impossible team, however when they are stopped like in their recent game against the Warriors, the team falls flat.
Those same players only combined for 16 points as the Heat were flat all night long in the 123-95 loss.
San Antonio Spurs
Winners of the past five of six games, the San Antonio Spurs are once again showing off why they are one of the best franchises in the NBA. The Spurs continue to be one of the most dominant teams as they are riding a small one game winning streak heading into this matchup.
San Antonio has had some close calls the past couple of games as they lost to the Thunder by three points, same with their win against the Detroit Pistons.
They are winning games, but can they still cover them? In their recent win against the Pistons, it was another amazing showing by LaMarcus Aldridge who scored 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.
