The Philadelphia 76ers came away with just their third victory of the season after beating the Phoenix Suns 120-105, while the Miami Heat also came away victorious in their last outing, after beating the Washington Wizards 114-111.
The Miami Heat came away with their fourth win of the season after beating the Washington Wizards 114-111. Miami is now on a two game winning streak after beating Washington and Milwaukee in their last two outings.
A lot of their newfound success has been due to the return of Josh Richardson, but some of it’s also due to the new identity the teams been playing with.
Miami has usually been a team that brings the ball up slowly, to score in the half-court. But now with the departure of Dwayne Wade the teams started to play at a higher pace.
That has to due with the fact that they are more youthful now, and they got more athleticism as well. Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside want to get out in transition to score easy baskets. So that’s helped build somewhat of an identity for the team. But they can still be far too inconsistent at times.
Some of that’s due to them having a new roster, but a lot of his just comes down to simple effort. Miami has a great defensive unit when everybody is locked in, but their not always focused on that end, and it comes back to hurt them at times.
That cannot happen this game. Philly has shown themselves to be an anemic offensive team, so Miami has got to take advantage of that. The Philadelphia 76ers have a hard time finding buckets at times so they choose to try scoring in transition before the defense is setup. Miami can’t allow that to happen, they’ve got to get back in transition and stop them from scoring points inside. If they can do just that, they’ll pull out with the win.
The Philadelphia 76ers came away with just their third win of the season, after beating the Phoenix Suns 120-105. With the win, Philadelphia has now won three of their last 6 games. But now they might get one of their toughest tests yet, in trying to stop Heat center Hassan Whiteside.
Joel Embid, Jhalil Okafor and even Nerlens Noel have all shown themselves to be average post defenders. That means Miami is going to be looking to post up Whiteside as much as possible, so Philadelphia has got to slow him down if they’re to come out with the win.
Goran Dragic and Whiteside are the Miami Heats two best players, so Philadelphia has got to find a way of containing those two, because the rest of the Heat players like playing off of both of them.
That’s why if Philly can slow them down they’ll have themselves a shot. Joel Embid has shown himself to be a beast on the offensive end of the floor, but he’s been on a minutes restriction.
However, the good thing is Nerlens Noel will be back this game, so the teams going to have another option at center. Now it just comes down to getting production from the 76ers second unit.
Miami doesn’t have a strong bench, so Philly has got to capitalize on that. The 76ers reserves are better then Miami’s so that can be the difference between them winning and losing this game.

Free Miami Heat vs. Philadelphia 76ers NBA Prediction:
Philadelphia seems to have trouble scoring when Joel Embid isn’t going off for 20 points a game. And that isn’t likely going to happen this match, because of Hassan Whiteside’s defense.
The Miami Heat big-man is one of the better defensive bigs in the league, so looks for him to shut down Joel Embid.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Under 198
The Miami Heat are a stout defensive unit, so the Philadelphia 76ers are going to have trouble scoring on them. Making this likely a low scoring affair.
