It’s pretty pathetic that the Heat only has one more win than the Bulls. It has average talent and superior depth, which, in the Southeast, should translate into a better than .500 record.
It’s been three losses in a row for Miami. The first two weren’t terrible (at Indy, vs. the Lakers) but the last one, at home to Brooklyn, is an indication of where the Heat’s effort level is at the moment.
Eric Spolestra will try to rally the guys but you can’t always just flip a switch in the NBA, especially when you don’t have elite talent, which the Heat doesn’t.
James Johnson and Dwyane Wade are back but Goran Dragic has continued to sit with a balky knee. He just had his knee drained and won’t play in Chicago or Toronto, the Heat’s next two destinations. As far as I’m concerned, the Heat is a fade.
Chicago ran past the Suns in a matchup of two teams desperately seeking a win when they can get it, 124–116.
The Bulls got their best game out of Jabari Parker since he signed a one-year deal for $20 million to return home and play for the team he rooted for growing up. Parker had twenty points, thirteen rebounds and eight assists in forty minutes.
Zach LaVine also returned from an illness to score twenty-nine. Three other Bulls had fourteen points in the win, just Chicago’s third win in its last dozen games. It was the Bulls’ first win against a Western Conference foe in seven tries this season.
The news that came out of Denzel Valentine’s camp was grim this week. The former Michigan State star needs ankle surgery and he’s going to be out several months. It no longer sounds like he’s going to see the court for the Bulls this season.
That’s a blow because of what he can do on the offensive end for Chicago. Two other playmakers, Kris Dunn and Lauri Markkanen are going through light drills as they make their way back from injuries, too.
In the meantime, Chicago isn’t going to beat many teams outside of the very worst in each league.

Free Miami Heat vs. Chicago Bulls NBA Prediction: Chicago covers.
Look, it’s going to be a tight game that could go either way (if it’s a blowout, I think it’ll be Chicago blowing out Miami). I’m thinking we’re going to get the Bulls with at least a few points so I’m keen.
