Miami Heat
Miami beat the Bucks on the road on Wednesday night. Milwaukee lost in Miami late last week and you could tell it was playing hard, looking for revenge on its home floor.
All three of Miami’s big men played tremendously. Hassan Whiteside scored a season-high and had six blocks. Kelly Olynyk scored 15 points in 13 minutes and Bam Adebayo had six assists and played great defense, as usual.

The Heat was without Tyler Johnson, who sprained his ankle and achilles the game before in Chicago. The injury looked serious at the time, but it sounds like Johnson has dodged a bullet. He was vouching with Spolestra before the game in Milwaukee to let him play. Coach Spo called him a “psycho” to reporters and he is. The only reason Johnson is in the NBA is because he works like a mad man. It’s also why he is one of the most underrated players in the league. He’s visiting a doctor in New York the day before this game and has to be a hard questionable as of now.

It might not be easy to pick Miami’s best player, but it’s equally as tough to identify its worst. There is no team more balanced in the NBA. Miami has three terrific bigs, a unique point-forward in Justise Winslow, a skilled forward in James Johnson, three savvy guards who play super hard and a talented scorer in Josh Richardson.
Brooklyn Nets
The Nets come into this game a little tired, having lost six of their last seven games. They lost another close one at home, by five to San Antonio on Wednesday.
The news on their end has mostly to do with D’Angelo Russell these days. Russell has been practicing and should return soon. There hasn’t been any indication is will be for this game, but it doesn’t sound like a possibility to rule out at this point, either.

Spencer Dinwiddie had 13 assists on Wednesday. His role will be the most affected when Russell does return. Presumably, Dinwiddie will go from point guard to playing off the ball. I’m not so sure the Nets wouldn’t be better off keeping the ball in Dinwiddie’s hands at least half the time. He’s done a good job running the offense with Russell out. Hopefully those two can co-exist on the floor at the same time.
