Two struggling but talented teams from the Western Conference will face off this Friday as the Memphis Grizzlies head to the Left Coast to take on the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Blazers are currently riding a two-game win streak after defeating the Los Angeles Lakers 105-98 on Wednesday.
However, Portland is still on the outside looking in, currently ranking 9th in the West.
Memphis Grizzlies
Marc Gasol scored a career-high 42 points as he led the Grizzlies to victory over the Raptors on Wednesday.
It looked as though it would be another trademark Memphis collapse, but they amazingly managed to hold off Toronto, even without scoring a single field goal in the last six and a half minutes of the game.

The Memphis offense is still nothing to brag about, scoring only 99.7 points per game which ranks 27th in the league.
They are tied for 14th in rebounding with 43.8 and 25th in assists with 20.7 per contest.
The Grizzlies continue to rely upon their defense to win games, allowing only 99.4 points per game which is 3rd best in the NBA.
Marc Gasol leads the Grizzlies with 20.6 points per game as well as 6.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists. Mike Conley is the engine that makes the offense go, with 18.6 points and 6.2 assists a night.
Zach Randolph is back in the starting lineup, and he contributes 13.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Portland Trail Blazers
Portland has gotten back to winning over the last two games, after losing four in a row. They defeated the Celtics 127-123 in overtime in Boston on Saturday, then defeated the Lakers 105-98 on Wednesday.
It was their 11th straight win over the struggling L.A. team.
The Trail Blazers have the 9th best scoring offense in the NBA, averaging 107.4 points per game. They rank 23rd in rebounding with 42.7 and 16th in assists with 22.1 per contest.

The defense is another story, as they allow 110.2 points per game which is 26th in the league.
Damien Lillard leads the way with 26.2 points and 5.8 assists per contest. C.J. McCollum is right behind him with 23.5 points per game. Mason Plumlee and Maurice Harkless both contribute 11 points per game.
