Injuries will once again be a factor for both clubs as they enter this European showcase. Orlando is still without Franz Wagner although he’s been upgraded to a game time decision joining Jalen Suggs and Wendell Carter Jr. in that area of the injury report.
Memphis has five players on the injury report all listed as a game time decision including the enigmatic Ja Morant. Joining him are Scotty Pippen Jr., Zach Edey, Ty Jerome and Brandon Clarke. If all five can play that will give Memphis a decided edge.
With the Grizzlies front office announcing they are open for business on Morant it might seem like an automatic that he’ll be gone by the trade deadline. However, unlike Trae Young he has more years on his contract so it doesn’t behoove Memphis to move him unless they get back young players and draft picks.
While the Magic have been the better overall team this season, Memphi injuries can be attributed to their record.
Check the injury report closer to game time to get a more accurate read of the situation. I unfortunately don’t have that benefit, so I’ll roll the dice that Memphis has all five players returning, and therefore I’ll take the points and the Grizzlies to win.
