Mavericks vs. Thunder Free Series Prediction: Guards
As I believe all positions will be a miss-match this series, I actually think Russell Westbrook will be the biggest miss-match for anyone in these Western Conference playoffs.
Just throw out the Thunder’s shooting guard Andre Roberson in this equation, because he doesn’t matter to be frank.
Dallas is going to throw Raymond Felton and Deron Williams at Westbrook throughout these games, but it will not matter. Westbrook is going to get his own no matter who is in front of him. Felton and Williams will not be able to sniff him.
Mavericks vs. Thunder Free Series Prediction: Forwards & Center
This one seems much more even when it comes to offense-defense matchups, but again, there is another x-factor in this equation, and this man’s name is Kevin Durant.
Kevin Durant is another guy that will not be able to be guarded by anyone in this series. Wesley Matthews will be matched up with him and although he is very athletic, Durant has such a special skillset that it will not matter who they put in front of him.
Any other playoff series, Dirk Nowitzki would have another great series, but I do not think Dirk will play to a level he needs to. The shot-blocking Serge Ibaka will be posted up on Dirk and I don’t see him giving him any move to breath.
Dirk will get his, but don’t expect anything special out of Dirk this week.
At the center position we have Zaza Pachulia and Sam Adams. This matchup is a toss-up, but does it really matter here?
Mavericks vs. Thunder Free Series Predictions:
Look for Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant to OWN this series.
Both of these guys have a hard time getting stopped by anyone in the NBA, if you looks at this Mavs roster, there isn’t one player that can keep either of these guys in check, let alone two guys that can go off for 40 every night.
Dirk will be able to get his own, as he is a big time playoff guy but look for Dallas to take the exit early here.
The biggest concern here is to keep Durant, Westbrook, and Ibaka on the court for the Spurs.
Free Series Pick: I’m looking for OKC to take this series in 4 games, 4 at the maximum.
