Friday, December 9th, the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers will play the first of two scheduled matches. LA will host on January 15th.
LA continues their six-game road trip following a 113-126 oust to the Raptors on Wednesday and will finish the trip in Detroit on Sunday. The 76ers have been off since Monday when they lost 123-132 in overtime to the Rockets.
Last season the clubs played twice with the 76ers winning both contests. The Lakers hold the all-time record with 146 wins in 287 matches versus the 76ers.

Anthony Davis’ bout with the flu could be pinpointed as the reason why the Lakers weren’t competitive versus the Cavaliers and Raptors.

LeBron James also sat out in Toronto more as a rest maintenance decision and his recent ankle injury. Without their two stars, LA had to rely on the ‘others’ to produce, and while six Lakers scored in double-figures the game was never close.

The Lakers score 114.2 points per game (12th) while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 32.2 percent from the perimeter ranking 12th and 28th respectively.

Philadelphia 76ers
No doubt James Harden timed his return to coincide with his team playing against his former team in Houston. He might regret that decision now though because it was the 76ers worst and most embarrassing loss of the season.
Harden was 4 of 19 from the field making only 3-pointers (4 of 11) plus had as many turnovers as assists (seven). While he’s rusty from the time off apparently sitting on the sidelines watching the Sixers struggle offensively did nothing to change his mindset about iso-ball.
Most concerning for the 76ers is they are 2-5 in the games when both Joel Embiid and he have played.
This season, the 76ers score an average of 109.0 points per game ranking 27th. Philly shoots 47.0% from the field and 37.6% from the perimeter, ranking 14th and sixth respectively.

Danuel House Jr., (foot) is questionable. Georges Niang (foot) is out Friday while Tyrese Maxey (foot) is out indefinitely.
