Tuesday, November 7 finds two Western Conference foes entering their fourth week of play in the 2017-18 regular season for the Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs. The Los Angeles Clippers have been slipping as of late as the Spurs have held their ground.
Last season, the squads played four times with the Clippers taking the series three to one. The Spurs hold the all-time record against the Clippers with a 124-39 record.
Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers leave for their first extended road trip of the season Monday. But when they board they will be looking to get away from LA as soon as possible as their latest homestand was awful.
That homestand saw them losing four out of the five games which left fans speechless, in a bad way of course.

They should take the final quarter of that homestand with them, though.
It was arguably the team’s best stretch of the season, one that saw them erase a 25-point deficit Sunday afternoon to take the lead with less than three minutes to play, only to give it back in a 104-101 loss to the Miami Heat at Staples Center.

Williams finished with 22 points while Rivers had 12 points and four steals for the Clippers, who also got 19 rebounds from Jordan. Johnson finished with 14 points for the Heat, who were led by Hassan Whiteside’s 21 points and 17 rebounds.
Sunday’s loss was the second straight and fourth in five games at home. The Clippers didn’t lose their fourth game at home last season until December.
Coach Doc Rivers, who is trying to integrate nine new players into the team, has hinted that a lack of chemistry may be behind the slow start.
San Antonio Spurs
Back at the AT&T Center on Sunday night, the Spurs beat the Phoenix Suns 112-95. It wasn’t always pretty, but the Spurs got it done.
The team took charge in the third quarter and did not look back. LaMarcus Aldridge once again led the team in scoring with 21 points. Danny Green and newly-minted starting point guard Patty Mills also had big games.
LaMarcus Aldridge scored 21 points and San Antonio rolled to a 112-95 victory on Sunday night following a dominant third quarter.
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich earned his 1,156th victory, passing Phil Jackson for sixth all-time, but the veteran coach’s thoughts were on the victims of the mass shooting in nearby Sutherland Springs.
The Spurs were low on energy in the first half, falling behind 65-61 against the short-handed Suns.

Playing without four players and with T.J. Warren nursing a head injury, Phoenix shot 69 percent from the field in the second quarter.
Warren scored a team-high 17 points. Patty Mills had 11 points in the third, going 3 for 3 on 3-pointers, and Aldridge had eight. Mills finished with 17 points and Danny Green added 14.
With Manu Ginobili sitting out for rest after playing in back-to-back games, San Antonio’s young reserves stepped forward. Dejounte Murray had 13 points, Bryn Forbes added 12 and Brandon Paul scored 11.
