Golden State Warriors vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Odds & Last 5
Last season, the conference rivals played four times, with the Warriors having the upper hand, winning three of four contests. This year, Minny is ahead 1-0 in the season series.
Golden State is reeling after Jimmy Butler tore his ACL, ending his season. The Dubs had been hot, going 12-4 prior to the injury, but are 0-2 since then. The Warriors hold the eighth seed with a record of 25-21.
Minnesota is going through a slump, having lost four games in a row, including defeats at the hands of the Jazz and Bulls. They sport a 27-18 record and sit in the seventh seed in a virtual tie with the Lakers and holding a 2.5 game lead over the Warriors.
The Wolves are 6.5 point favorites to win with an over/under of 236.5 points.
Warriors Stats
With 46 games in the well, Golden State ranks 12th (115.6) on offense and tied for eighth on defense (112.9). Additionally, the Dubs hold the ninth-ranked net rating (+2.7) and run the 16th quickest pace (100.66).
The West’s eighth seed averages 116.8 points per game while their opponents average 114.2 points. In terms of dimes and boards, Golden State averages 28.8 (sixth) and 42.8 (22nd), respectively.
Team leaders* for key categories are Stephen Curry for scoring (27.4), Jonathan Kuminga for rebounding (5.9), Draymond Green for assists (5.2), De’Anthony Melton for steals (1.4), and Al Horford for blocks (1.0).
As for the perimeter, the Dubs continue to rely on it, but perhaps not as much as in the past. They shoot 36.7% from deep as a team, with seven players shooting 36.2% or better.

Wolves Stats

The West’s seventh-place Wolves average 26.8 assists (10th) and 44.7 rebounds (13th). Minny scores 120.0 points per game while their opponents average 115.1 points.
The Wolves team leaders* are Anthony Edwards for scoring (29.6 points) and steals (1.3), Rudy Gobert for rebounding (11.3) and blocks (1.7), and Julius Randle for assists (5.4).
As for the perimeter, the Wolves average 37.2% from deep with five players shooting above 36%.

Golden State Warriors vs. Minnesota Timberwolves bottom line:
To suggest things are precarious in Golden State would be the understatement of the season. With Butler out, the Warriors’ front office and coaching staff realized they would need to play Jonathan Kuminga, but that didn’t stop them from suggesting there was no demand for his services.
Kuminga played well in his two appearances, but then injured his knee in the last outing and is now a game time decision.
Golden State Warriors vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Basketball Betting Trends
- Golden State is 6-3 ATS in its last 9 games.
- The total has gone OVER in 5 of Golden State’s last 5 games.
- Golden State is 12-6 SU in its last 18 games.
- Also, Minnesota is 2-5 ATS in its last 7 games
- The total has gone OVER in 4 of Minnesota’s last 5 games against Golden State.
- Additionally, Minnesota is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games.
Warriors Wolves Free Pick: Wolves -2.5
Here is my Warriors Wolves free pick.
Size should factor in this matchup as the Warriors are one of the smallest clubs and if Kuminga can’t go they’ll likely look at playing more guards which will make them even smaller.
The Wolves will be playing desperate after losing four in a row and knowing they played down to the competition on a couple of occasions.
His name hasn’t been in the mix, but keep an eye on Anthony Edwards to get in the conversation for the MVP top five list.
As long as Steph Curry is on the court, the Dubs have a shot at winning. The issue, however, is who is the secondary option? No one jumps off the page and the Wolves are almost in a must win scenario to stop the bleeding so I’ll take the home team to win and cover.
