Here is my Nuggets Nets free pick. It didn’t take long for the suddenly improved Nets to flip back to being mediocre. That said, Jordi Fernandez has his team playing hard each night, and they might view this game as an opportunity to get back in the win column.
Brooklyn had the best defense in the month of December, but quickly switched their focus and is once again struggling on that end of the court.
Even as the Nets have improved keep an eye on the club and specifically Michael Porter Jr. at the trade deadline. He’s having a solid campaign and while he would help Brooklyn he doesn’t fit the time line.
MPJ has missed the last two games and remains a question mark for this contest, listed as a game time decision. He’ll join Nic Claxton, Cam Thomas, and Haywood Highsmith, who are also questionable. This would be the first time MPJ was facing his former team.
As for the Nuggets, they’ve upgraded Gordon and Braun to questionable for Sunday, while Jamal Murray has an ankle sprain but is probable to play.
With the above being a factor, I still like Jamal Murray to lead the charge and keep the Nets losing, so I’ll take Denver to win and cover.
