It’s been a struggle for Cleveland since it won 18 out of 19 at the start of November and into December. The Cavaliers have gone just 3–6 since that run that made people forget just how bad they were at the start of the season.
Isaiah Thomas is back now. He has played in three of Cleveland’s last four games, only missing the game in Boston. He got ejected in Cleveland’s last game — a loss in Minnesota — when he close lined Andrew Wiggins on a drive to the basket. It was supposedly unintentional but the got the boot anyway.
Thomas’ presence undoubtedly changes things and you have to wonder how much it has affected the Cavs, who weren’t playing well before he returned either. They have actually won two out of the three games IT has played. But they must get used to the extra shots he is going to take, as well as his subpar defense. The good news is that they have plenty of time to do just that.
Toronto lost a home game against Miami on Tuesday night. The Heat’s defense clamped down on the Raptors and it was a chippy game all night. Serge Ibaka and James Johnson got ejected for throwing elbows at one another and DeMar DeRozan got into it with Goran Dragic after the game and had to be broken apart.
That loss was the first in six games for the Raptors. Kyle Lowry did not play, however. He suffered a nasty fall in Toronto’s previous game in Brooklyn and bruised his tailbone. He’s still sore but apparently just day-to-day, which is good news for Toronto.
Delon Wright started in his place. He set a career-high with 25 points earlier this month against Chicago and has proven to be a valuable backup after missing most of last season with a shoulder injury.
It’s been a quick ascent for Wright, who had to start his collegiate career at community college due to academics. Once he finished, he signed on in the Pac-12 with Utah and was named to the All-Conference First Team in both of his seasons, including the All-Defensive First Team in both seasons.

Free Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Toronto Raptors NBA Prediction: Toronto bounces back with a win at home.
I’ve got a feeling Lowry will play in this game, but even if he doesn’t Toronto is deep enough to give Cleveland’s bench problems. I like Toronto at home.
