Injuries rocked the Pacers early, but they’ve looked discombobulated even when healthy, which certainly does a ton for Tyrese Haliburton’s stock. Well, that and the fact that the Pacers definitely need a major upgrade at the center position.
Pundits are surmizing this could be a similar season for the Pacers as the year the Spurs took a timeout with an injured David Robinson and then won the lottery and Tim Duncan.
Perhaps I’m pushing the outside of the envelope a tad here because the Cavs won’t have Mitchell and possibly Jarrett Allen.
Still, they are an expensive team because they have depth, and that has to pay dividends, especially if you’re going into the second apron. Besides, it sure feels like the Pacers are intent on tanking, and that’s shown in their effort of late.
