The formalities are finally out of the way, and we get the matchup we have expected since the end of last year. The NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers will travel to Oakland for Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the 2015 Champion Golden State Warriors.
This is the first time that the same two teams have met in the Finals for three years in a row, and the world is ready for the rubber match.

The Cavaliers cruised through the Eastern Conference, losing only one game on their way to the Finals. That would be an incredibly impressive feat, were it not for their opponents.
The Warriors never broke a sweat in the playoffs, becoming the first team in NBA history to go 12-0 in the postseason. But the real test awaits them here as they look to avenge last year’s defeat.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The defending champions had their struggles in the regular season, particularly on the defensive side. However, they woke up when in mattered and dominated the opposition in the postseason on their way to their third straight NBA Finals appearance.
The Cavs have lost only one game in the playoffs so far, a home upset against the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. That one blemish may have been just what they needed in preparation for a rematch with the Warriors.

LeBron James is making his seventh straight NBA Finals appearance, and has been a wrecking ball through this postseason. James leads the Cavs with 32.5 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and 2.15 steals per game in the playoffs.
Kyrie Irving has been unstoppable at clutch moments and added 24.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest. Kevin Love is having the best postseason of his career by far with 17.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per contest. The Cavs have scored 116.8 points per game in the playoffs with an average point differential of +13.6
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors have been a juggernaut out West in the playoffs, and they have destroyed opponents on the way to their third straight Finals appearance.
Golden State has clearly been on a mission, as they let a 3-1 series lead slip away in last year’s Finals. They feel as though they gave the championship away last year and plan to make up for it in the rubber match of this series.
The Warriors have led the playoffs in scoring with 118.3 points per game, and they have been firing on all cylinders. Not only have they gone undefeated through the postseason, their average point differential was the highest for a Finals team in the modern era (+16.3).

Free Game 1 Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors NBA Prediction:
Both teams should come out swinging in Game 1. It will be interesting to see how much Steve Kerr’s absence impacts the Warriors, but they are nearly unbeatable at home, even against a great opponent.
4* Free NBA Game 1 Betting Pick: Cavaliers +7
I expect the Warriors to hold home-court advantage in this one, but it should be a close game.
