It’s a full slate of games on Friday night all across the NBA. In this one it’s two of the worst teams in the NBA face off in an Eastern conference showdown.
The Chicago Bulls make the trip to the Spectrum Center to take on the Charlotte Hornets. The Bulls have won the last three games played between the two teams.
The Chicago Bulls have had quite the season so far this year, and that hasn’t been a good thing. Teammates fighting and a lot of the struggles on the court have lead to them only having three wins.
One of those wins was over this Hornets team. They had one of their best offensive outputs and that led to a 123-120 victory.
For the Bulls their struggles start on the offensive side of the ball. Coming into this game they are only averaging 95.7 points per game, so the fact they put up 123 points against the Hornets is even more impressive.
For the Bulls their biggest issue is just the talent on the team. After trading away Jimmy Butler it was clear this was going to be a rebuild, and right now they just don’t have a ton of offensive firepower.
One thing to watch in this game is if Nikola Mirotic plays in his first game of the year. He was the one that got in a fight with Bobby Portis before the season started.
He has been out since then with facial fractures, but he is officially questionable for this game. If he can go in this game I would expect them to ease him in, and for him to only play a handful of minutes in this game.
On the other side of this match up is the Charlotte Hornets who have had a very difficult season already, and now they will be without their coach.
Steve Clifford will be taking a leave to deal with an undisclosed health issue. When he will be back with the team is very unclear.
The Hornets are really struggling coming into this game having lost five of the last six games, and the only win coming over a very bad Orlando team.
For the Hornets they are a good offensive team, but they struggle on the defensive side of the floor.
They are currently scoring 104 points per game while giving up 106 points per game. To win this game that defense is going to need to really step up.
They can’t struggle like they did in the last game on the defensive side, or they will be upset again in this game. If they play better on the defensive side, and just play their game on the offensive side, they should have no issu coming out ahead in this game.
