It’s a huge Eastern conference showdown on Friday night at Quicken Loans Arena. The Atlanta Hawks travel to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers that has playoff implications all over it.
This seems to be a match up between two teams heading into different directions. This is the third meeting of the year between the two teams.
The away team won each of the previous match ups in games that were very high scoring affairs.
The Atlanta Hawks have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the NBA this year. They go a few weeks playing really good basketball, and the go for a few weeks of playing really bad basketball. Right now they are in the few weeks of really bad basketball.
They come into this game having only won two of their last ten games. Their problems as of late have been on the offensive end of the floor.
They have only scored over 100 points once in their last ten games. In their last game they lost to the Nets 91-82. That looks really bad for the Hawks because the Nets are one of the worst teams in the league at defense.
The Hawks last two weeks are super important when coming to playoff seeding. They come into this game in sixth place in the Eastern conference, but they are only a half game back of the Bucks for fifth. If they could move up that one spot, it would be huge.
The one boost the Hawks are really going to get in this game is that they are going to get some of their key guys back. Paul Millsap, Kent Bazemore and Tim Hardaway Jr are all probable for this game.
Those guys should at least make this game a bit more competitive.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming into this game off probably their biggest win of the season. The Celtics and the Cavaliers came into that game tied for first place in the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers came out really focused in that game and won 114-91.
Now that the Cavaliers control their own destiny for the one seed in the Eastern Conference, they can’t have a slip up against another team and lose control of their fate.
To win this game the Cavaliers need to come out strong. They need to treat this game the same way they treated the Celtics game. If they can do that they should have no problem with an Atlanta Hawks team that on paper is no where near as good as them.

Free Atlanta Hawks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Prediction:
This game is going to come down to what team can get out to the faster start. When the Cavaliers have lost as of late they just haven’t looked motivated to start the game.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Cavaliers -9
I don’t see that being a problem in this game. I think the Cavaliers will come out motivated and dominate the game from start to finish. I think not only will the Cavaliers win, they will also cover the spread.
