Atlanta Hawks Strengths:
The Atlanta Hawks may have the best big man duo in all of the NBA.
The Hawks went out and C Dwight Howard and will have him down low with Paul Millsap this season. Millsap brings a solid defensive mentality to the floor as he can alter many shots and will typically grab double digit rebounds.
As for Howard, he obviously brings a lot to the table. He can control the paint on both sides of the floor and has shown he can put a team on his back.

Depth is also a huge plus for this team. They have a lot of players who can score and a lot of players off the bench that can make a serious impact.
Dennis Schroeder, Kent Bazemore, Tiago Splitter, and Kris Humphries all made an impact last season with the Hawks and will have the same, if not even better roles this season.
Throw Kyle Korver, Thabo Sefolosha, and Mike Scott into the mix and this team has plenty of options offensively.
Atlanta Hawks Weaknesses:
There are some questions surrounding this Hawks team though.
Yes, they have the depth that most teams do not have. However, in clutch time, who is the go to guy here. Can they play through Dwight Howard or is that not going to be enough when going possession by possession.
Needing a bucket in the last second, who gets the nod? With Jeff Teague come, will Dennis Schroeder be the guy?
Time will obviously tell who gets the ball for the last second shot, but as of right now, there isn’t that one stand out star that is going to have fans feeling confident with the basketball in their hands under 10 seconds.

Let’s also not forget all the drama that Dwight Howard has the potential to bring.
C Al Horford fit in very well with this Atlanta Hawks team. However, his decision to go to Boston left the void that was filled by Howard.
In the past, Howard has expressed his displeasure with teams and certainly keeps nothing hidden from the media or fans. Should things start to go wrong early or Howard doesn’t fit in, will his drama come back and hurt the Hawks?
Atlanta Hawks Betting Prediction: 45-37
Their win total is going to end up around what it was last year.
Should Howard fit in, swapping him out for Horford has it’s pros and cons. However, if him and Millsap can get on the same page, this team will force every team to become a jump shooting team as they simply will control the paint.
The Hawks are likely what they’re said to be, a middle of the pack Eastern Conference team.

Expect a 4th-6th seed for this team and should they get off to a fast start in the first half, maybe they do add that go to scorer at the deadline.
