It’s that time of year again.
The NBA’s brightest stars will shine bright in the Big Easy, when the likes of LeBron James and James Harden step on the court to take part in the NBA All Star Game.
Below will describe 5 players and why they have the chance to win this year’s NBA All Star Game MVP.
Russell Westbrook 2017 NBA All Star Game MVP Odds +325
Russell Westbrook comes in as the favorite to win the NBA All Star Game MVP with +325 odds.
Why is he the favorite?
In the last two All Star Games, the Western Conference has come out on top, and Russell Westbrook has walked away with the MVP trophy.
In last years game he dropped 41 points, which was one point shy of tying Wilt Chamberlain, for the most points in an All Star Game ever.
The one thing that concerns me going into this game is his beef with Kevin Durant. Steve Kerr is the coach of this team, so it will be interesting if the two are on the court together much. If they aren’t it could cut into his minutes and his chance to 3-peat.
Stephen Curry NBA All Star Game MVP Odds +650
Is their really any reason to question why Curry could win the title?
This guy can light it up from anywhere at anytime, and the All Star Game would be a perfect time to do that.
He has two other big advantages in this game.
He decided to take the 3 point contest off this year, so he doesn’t have to worry about preparing for that.
Steve Kerr is also the coach of this team so he should get ample amount of opportunities to light up the scoreboard.
Anthony Davis 2017 NBA All Star Game MVP Odds +700
Anthony Davis can do it all, plus he is doing it front of his home fans so he will want to make it even more special.
Now Davis might not be able to put up as many points as Westbrook and Curry in this game, because he doesn’t shoot the three ball well, he does do everything else well.
He can rebound and block shots as well as anyone in the NBA, so at the end of the day he might have the best overall stat line for any of the players in this game.
LeBron James 2017 NBA All Star Game MVP Odds +750
LeBron James comes into this game with the best odds out of anyone on the team for the East to come home with the MVP award.
There are five players on the West that have better odds. That is the one thing that scares me about LeBron.
Usually a player from the winning team wins the MVP, and the West has won both of the last two games and are favored again in this game.
But LeBron always shows out at the All Star Game, so he could come home with some new hardware.
John Wall 2017 NBA All Star Game MVP Odds +2200
I like John Wall as my dark horse in this race.
John Wall can take over a game at anytime with both his scoring and his passing. With all the stars around him on Sunday night he really could rack up the assists and show off his fancy passing skills.
If he was able to win the award at +2200 the payout would be big. If I was a betting man I would put my money on Westbrook because of his past success or Wall, because of his payout if he is able to win.
