Week twelve of the college football season will kick off with an early week game played on Tuesday. This will be a game between two MAC opponents.
In this matchup, we will see the Western Michigan Broncos take on the Ohio Bobcats.
Western Michigan Broncos
Western Michigan also played last week on a Tuesday, so they have still had a full week to prepare for this game. They beat Ball State last week 35-31, but did fail to cover the spread.
The Broncos continue to sit tied for first in the MAC West Division with Central Michigan. They have a conference record of 4-2, but having already beaten Central Michigan, they own the tiebreaker. Western Michigan has already clinched bowl eligibility so as long as they win their last two games, they will likely be playing for a MAC title game.
Against Ball State, their offense played great, putting up 508 total yards. They were clearly set out to establish the run from the start and managed to run the ball 51 times for 384 yards. This was an average of 7.5 yards per game. Their rushing offense now ranks 18th in the country, averaging 223.6 yards per game on the ground.

Defensively, things were a little shaky as they allowed 409 total yards. Most of these yards came on the ground as they allowed 261 rushing yards. The Broncos do not have one area where they really excel on the defensive end, so they need to be careful against an Ohio that is not half bad.
In terms of points allowed per game, the Broncos have allowed 26.3. In MAC-tion, they have allowed an average of 22.8 points per game. Specifically in road MAC games, they have allowed 32.5 points per game, so the Broncos need to be careful that this trend does not continue.
Ohio Bobcats
Ohio suffered an upset loss last week to put their bowl eligibility in jeopardy. They lost outright to Miami (Ohio) by a score of 24-21. Now having to win two of their final three games should actually be pretty easy, but you can never take any game lightly.
The Bobcats are most likely out of contention for the MAC East title based on the fact that they lost to the Redhawks. They are 3-2 in the conference and need Miami (Ohio) to lose twice still.
The offense in the game with the Redhawks actually put up a decent amount of yards, but they had trouble putting the ball in the end zone. Also, there is the fact that they fumbled twice which killed some of their drives.
They had the most success running the ball, picking up 241 yards on the ground. They gained an average of 5.2 yards per carry too, so they were fine in this regard.

The defense for the Bobcats also played well, allowing a total of 279 yards. Overall, they are allowing 428 yards, so clearly they were able to have some success.
In terms of points allowed per game, the Bobcats allow an average of 28.9. In MAC games they allow an average of 28.4 points per game. In home MAC games, they are allowing 33.7 points per game.
