The Vanderbilt Tigers will travel to Columbia and take on the Missouri Tigers from Faurot Field on the SEC Network this Saturday. Mizzou comes into this one as the 14-point home favorites, with the total opening at 52.5.
HISTORY: Vanderbilt and Missouri have crossed paths in every season since 2012, when the Tigers came over from the Big 12. Mizzou holds the all-time series lead over Vandy, 9-4.
Vanderbilt Commodores
Vandy jumped out to a 3-1 start that included wins over Hawaii and Northern Illinois, but they’ve hit a wall since the start of SEC play. AJ Swann has endured quite the experience starting as a true freshman at the quarterback position. Swann starred the win over NIU, tossing for 255 yards and four touchdowns, he has starts in Tuscaloosa and Athens under his belt.

Ray Davis has been able to make some things happen for Vandy this year. The senior back recorded over 100 yards in each of their four non-conference games, he rushed for 105 yards and a score in loss to Ole Miss. Davis has been pretty versatile this season, and he leads Vandy with 536 rushing yards, 19 catches and six total touchdowns (4 rush, 2 rec).
Will Sheppard has been the guy outside for Vandy this season. The junior receiver has scored multiple touchdowns in three games this season, and he leads Commodores in receptions (38), receiving yards (497), and he’s among SEC leaders with eight touchdowns. Jayden McGowan has been solid alongside him, ranking second on the team with 31 catches for 387 yards and two scores.
Missouri Tigers
Missouri came away from non-conference play with a 2-1 record, picking up victories over Louisiana Tech and Abilene Christian, while losing to former Big 12 rival Kansas State. Mizzou fell to Auburn in a battle of Tigers in their SEC opener, and nearly made school history in a near-win over Georgia the following Saturday. Last time out, the Tigers put a scare on another SEC power.
In Week 6, Missouri lost to Florida at the Swamp, 24-17, improving to 4-2 ATS this season.
Missouri scores 25.2 points per game, while allowing 24.6 ppg.
Brady Cook has shown a few flashes during his first month of action. The sophomore quarterback played well against Georgia, and nearly led Tigers to one of the biggest wins in school history. Cook has thrown for 1,217 passing yards with five touchdowns to six interceptions, and rushed for 163 yards and two scores.
Nathaniel Peat and Cody Schrader split the workload. Peat, a Stanford transfer, rushed for a season-high 117 yards versus Auburn and leads Mizzou with 379 rushing yards. Schrader leads the team with four rushing touchdowns, while rushing for 278 yards.
Dominic Lovett has established himself as the number one option early, leading the Tigers in receptions (31) and receiving yards (499).
